Very Important Update
March 28, 2009

Dear Fellow Members, Managers and Coaches,

In the coming weeks you will receive some very important emails from us.   Additionally, we will be posting information to the TUFC website for all members to review.  We respectfully request that you take the time to read, digest and provide us with your comments and feedback regarding the issues addressed in these emails.

The Board of Directors is currently considering several changes that have been proposed for the betterment of our club. At this time, no changes have been made as the Board continues to look to its membership for input prior to making decisions.

Among the issues that the Board is trying to address are as follows:

Ø      Regularly running TUFC tournaments
Ø      Conduct more community outreach whether it is marketing or recruiting as we have a number of combined  age groups because we haven’t recruited enough players to join the Club
Ø      Better fundraising and increased sponsorships.
Ø      Forging new relationships with local colleges that benefits our children such as contact with the FSU  Women’s Soccer program

Last August, the board voted to conduct a study to determine what changes, if any, would be beneficial for our club, including the possibility of hiring a full time staff person.  We called it a Feasibility Study. A number of coaches worked hard to make suggestions for the betterment of our club. You can find more information about the Feasibility Study process & conclusions on the TUFC website under “About Us.” As I mentioned earlier, these suggestions are still being discussed and no decisions have been made to accept or reject any of the suggestions in the Study.

The issue of whether to review the terms of the service contract between Warner Sports Promotions and TUFC has also been raised. To be clear Andy Warner’s role with TUFC and his status as the Director of Coaching for our club has never been, and is not in question. No one has suggested and there has been no discussion of changing our Director of Coaching. Rather, there has been some discussion about making modifications in the contract as it relates to the specifics of the delivery and monitoring the services provided by Warner Sports Promotions and TUFC’s obligations to Warner as our Contractor.

We really do need everyone to understand this because numerous people have shared with various Board members that they are hearing we the Board are trying to terminate the relationship with Andy Warner. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our focus throughout this critical review has always been solely regarding operations and notcoaching.

In the next week or so, we will be setting the date for the board meeting at which these issues will undergo additional discussions prior to being considered. We want to make sure that all members have adequate notice of the meeting ensuring maximum opportunity for all members to voice concerns, provide input, including attending and participating in the board meeting.

Your thoughts, comments and questions are always welcome and appreciated. . Please seek out any Board member at the fields or email us at TUFCsoccer@yahoo.com

Please continue to check your emails and the website for information.

For the TUFC Board we thank you for your time, commitment to your children, our Club and your participation in this process.

Sincerely,

TUFC Board
